What impact will you make?

Insurers help policyholders by bearing their risks. The key challenges facing the insurance industry are constantly evolving. These include digital and data-driven strategies, increasing regulatory pressures, sustainability issues and a changing definition of what it means to be an insurer.

As a thesis intern at Deloitte Financial Risk Management, you will experience what it is like to develop solutions for the insurance world. You will share your expertise with around 100 colleagues in the Financial Risk Management team in Amsterdam. FRM's areas of expertise include:

  • Banking: focussing on credit risk, climate risk, and asset and liability management
  • Actuarial: focussing on Insurance sector, pension schemes, and sustainability
  • Trustworthy AI: focusing on the responsible use of AI and robust AI governance

The internship focuses on writing your master's thesis. During this internship, you will be closely mentored by your thesis supervisor at Deloitte. You will also be part of the Financial Risk talent pool. This means that in addition to writing your thesis, you will have the opportunity to work on projects, proposals or research for our clients.

If you have a proposal for your thesis research, please do not forget to include it when you apply.

When a recruiter sees enough of a match with your profile, we will ask you to complete an online assessment. By playing four online games, we can see which qualities and talents you possess and whether they align with the position you've applied for.
    Step 4: The interview
    Video thumbnail
Depending on the scores of the career scan, you will be invited for a first interview with the recruiter. The first interview is held with a recruiter and someone from the team. We are curious about who you are, what you have done and what you expect from a new job. We also give you more insight into what we are looking for and what the tasks are that belong to the position. If both parties would like to discuss it further, you will be invited for a next interview. In these conversations, we go deeper into the content. What is your talent and what skills do you manage? You can during one of the next interviews get a case study.
    Step 5: The offer
When all conversations have been satisfactorily completed (for both parties), an offer will follow. The recruiter will draw up the contract for you which you will receive digitally.
